【摘要】:Todescribestandardapproachesusedtodetermineairsamplingstrategiesbeforeanyactualairsamplingoccurs.Forthemajorityofthepurposesforsampling,andforthemajorityofthematerialssampled,airsamplingstrategiesaremattersofchoice.Airsamplingintheworkplacemaybedoneforsingleormultiplepurposes.Conflictsarisewhenasingleairsamplingstrategyisexpectedtosatisfymultiplepurposes.Limitationsofcost,space,powerrequirements,equipment,analyticalmethods,andpersonnelrequirementsresultinanoptimumstrategyforeachpurpose.Astrategydesignedtosatisfymultiplepurposesmustbeacompromiseamongseveralalternatives,andwillnotbeoptimumforanyonepurpose.Thepurposeorpurposesofsamplingshouldbeexplicitlystatedbeforeasamplingstrategyisselected.Goodpractice,legalrequirements,costofthesamplingprogram,andtheusefulnessoftheresultsmaybemarkedlydifferentfordifferentpurposesofsampling.Thisguidewillnotaidintheevaluationofairsamplingdata.Thisguideisintendedforthosewhoarepreparingtoevaluatetheworkenvironmentofalocationbyairsampling,orwhowishtoobtainanunderstandingofwhatinformationcanbeobtainedbyairsampling.ThisworkwascommissionedbythecommitteeonOccupationalHealthandSafetybecausetherewasnodocumentavailablethatdrewtogetherinoneplacethemanydiversepiecesofinformationaboutairsamplingcoveredwithinit.Thisguidecannotbeusedasastand-alonedocumenttoevaluateanygivenairbornecontaminant.1.1Toprovidecriteriatobeusedindefiningairsamplingstrategiesforworkplacehealthandsafetymonitoringorevaluation,suchas:duration,frequency,number,location,method,equipment,andtiming.1.2WhensamplingisdonetodetermineiftheconditionsintheworkplaceareincompliancewithregulationsoftheU.S.OccupationalSafetyandHealthAdministration(OSHA),manyofthesecriteria,forspecifichazardoussubstances,arestatedin29CFR1910.
