【摘要】:Thistestmethoddescribesafull-scalereferencescenarioprocedureforassessingtheburningbehaviourofstairsorstaircoverings,whenexposedtoadefinedignitionsource.Therisksaddressedinthisscenarioareessentiallythoseofadeliberateratherthananaccidentalfire.Theignitionsourcesspecifiedincludeawoodcribtorepresentalocalattackwithburningcrumplednewspaperandagasburnertorepresentamoresevereattackwhenthewholewidthofthebottomstepisattacked.Theobservationsofburningbehaviourprovideabasisforassessingthefireexposurebehaviourofstaircoveringsinstalledoverdifferentstairsubstrates.Thismethodisapplicabletoalltypesofstaircoveringsthatcanbeinstalledonstairsortothestairsthemselves.Theresultsobtainedfromthismethodreflecttheperformanceofthetotalstaircoveringsystemtogetherwiththestairsubstrate,astested,andarenotintendedtobethesolecriterionforassessingthepotentialfirehazardoftheproductinuse.Modificationstothestaircovering,underlay,fixingsystem,stairsubstrateorotherchangestothesystemcanaffecttestresults.Testsareperformedwithanenclosedoropen-sidedstaircase.Inthistestmethod,thereisnoclosureatthetopofthestairstprepresentaceilingonastairslanding.Thetopofthestairsassemblyisopensothatthetestsareconductedunderwell-ventilatedconditions.
