【摘要】:Thistestmethodwasdevelopedforthepurposeofmeasuringgrossalpharadioactivityinwater.Itisusedfortheanalysisofbothprocessandenvironmentalwatertodeterminegrossalphaactivitywhichisoftenaresultofnaturalradioactivitypresentinminerals.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthemeasurementofalphaparticleactivityofwater.Itisapplicabletonuclidesthatemitalphaparticleswithenergiesabove3.9MeVandatactivitylevelsabove0.02Bq/mL(540pCi/L)ofradioactivehomogeneouswater.Thistestmethodisnotapplicabletosamplescontainingalpha-emittingradionuclidesthatarevolatileunderconditionsoftheanalysis.1.2Thistestmethodcanbeusedforeitherabsoluteorrelativedeterminations.Intracerwork,theresultsmaybeexpressedbycomparisonwithastandardthatisdefinedtobe100%.Forradioassay,datamaybeexpressedintermsofalphadisintegrationratesaftercalibrationwithasuitablestandard.GeneralinformationonradioactivityandmeasurementofradiationhasbeenpublishedandsummarizedinPracticeD3648.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
