【摘要】:Thisfire-test-responsestandardassessestheresponseofmaterials,products,andassembliestocontrolledlevelsofradiantheatexposurewithorwithoutanexternalignitor.Thefire-test-responsecharacteristicsdeterminedbythistestmethodincludetheignitability,heatreleaserates,masslossrates,visiblesmokedevelopment,andgasreleaseofmaterials,products,andassembliesunderwellventilatedconditions.Thistestmethodisalsosuitablefordeterminingmanyoftheparametersorvaluesneededasinputforcomputerfiremodels.Examplesofthesevaluesincludeeffectiveheatofcombustion,surfacetemperature,ignitiontemperature,andemissivity.Thistestmethodisalsointendedtoprovideinformationaboutotherfireparameterssuchasthermalconductivity,specificheat,radiativeandconvectiveheattransfercoefficients,flameradiationfactor,airentrainmentrates,flametemperatures,minimumsurfacetemperaturesforupwardanddownwardflamespread,heatofgasification,nondimensionalheatofgasification(1)andtheflamespreadparameter(seeTestMethodE1321).Whilesomestudieshaveindicatedthatthistestmethodissuitablefordeterminingthesefireparameters,insufficienttestingandresearchhavebeendonetojustifyinclusionofthecorrespondingtestingandcalculatingprocedures.Theheatreleaserateisdeterminedbytheprincipleofoxygenconsumptioncalorimetry,viameasurementoftheoxygenconsumptionasdeterminedbytheoxygenconcentrationandflowrateintheexhaustproductstream(exhaustduct).Theprocedureisspecifiedin11.1.Smokedevelopmentisquantifiedbymeasuringtheobscurationoflightbythecombustionproductstream(exhaustduct).Specimensareexposedtoaconstantheatingfluxintherangeof0to50kW/minaverticalorientation.Hotwiresareusedtoignitethecombustiblevaporsfromthespecimenduringtheignitionandheatreleasetests.Theassessmentoftheparametersassociatedwithflamespreadrequirestheuseoflineburnersinsteadofhotwireignitors.Heatreleasemeasurementsatlowheatfluxlevels(10kW/m)requirespecialconsiderationsasdescribedinSectionA1.1.6.Thistestmethodhasbeendevelopedforevaluations,design,orresearchanddevelopmentofmaterials,products,orassemblies,formathematicalfiremodeling,orforresearchanddevelopment.Thespecimenshallbetestedinthicknessesandconfigurationsrepresentativeofactualendproductorsystemuses.LimitationsofthetestmethodarelistedinSection.ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thisstandardisusedtomeasureanddescribetheresponseofmaterials,products,orassembliestoheatandflameundercontrolledconditions,butdoesnotbyitselfincorporateallfactorsrequiredforfirehazardorfireriskassessmentofthematerials,products,orassembliesunderactualfireconditions.Firetestingofproductsandmaterialsisinherentlyhazardous,andadequatesafeguardsforpersonnelandpropertyshallbeemployedinconductingthesetests.Thistestmethodmayinvolvehazardousmaterials,operations,andequipment.SpecificinformationabouthazardisgiveninSection7.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
